Saw other locals posting on Facebook about the food and knew we had to try Tikanis too. GPS had us riding in circles but we arrived a bit past opening (4:30 on a
Wednesday). We were immediately welcomed by Rachel and Ashley. We sat at the bar and two friends soon joined us. There was a huge selection of craft beer. Our friends ordered wine based margaritas and sangrias.

We decided to shared mahi mahi fish spread which was accompanied by chopped tomatoes, picked jalapenos, chopped onion and crackers. Before ordering, we asked if it was from Nachman's Seafood Market & Smokehouse and it was. Always fresh, always tasty. The never frozen wings are fried and tossed in your choice of sauce and then flame broiled - crispy, moist, flavorful. They are served with carrots, celery and choice of blue cheese or ranch. Four of us were sharing so we opted for mild which had great taste -- we'll try the hot next time.

After the starters which shared well, the others ordered dinner. The antipasto salad was served with Italian dressing, greens, ham, salami, pepperoni, black & green olives, tomato, provolone. The guys each ordered the Gyro with seasoned beef grilled then wrapped in a warm pita with lettuce, onion, tomato and tzatziki. The both said it was best that they've had in the area and believe me, they order gyros everywhere (and often). Although everyone knows that I take pictures of the food we order, it is rare that the plate isn't sampled before i can get the shot.

What was great is that the owner, Lucas, stopped by to thank us for "checking in" on Yelp. Great guy and appreciative of our business. No doubt in my mind that we'll stop in again soon.,

Came here for Wednesday night trivia. Fun! Great service. Small place and a little divey but sometimes those are the best places!

I ordered a mini pizza with black olives and sausage. Very good!! Not too saucy. Hot and fresh! Perfect amount of toppings!

Very delicious place to eat! I have had this place booked marked on my yelp for a while and finally got the opportunity to come here after my visit to treasure island beach. We got here on a Saturday mid afternoon around 2. It was a little slow and we had the whole place to ourselves.

I loved the decor on the walls and the suitcases on the ceiling. It was clearly travel themed! Our main draw was the pizza and the wings. My husband said he heard they had the best wings here, so he wanted to try them. We ordered the lemon pepper and the bourbon wings. Now I am not normally a wing eater, but these were delicious. They had the slight burn to them like they were off the grill and she lit the bourbon flavor on fire. They were very good!

I had a hard time deciding which pizza to get. We all liked different flavors so I got my own mini and then the others split a medium. I got the chicken Caprese. Wow! That was a very flavorful pizza! I wish I got a bigger size. The balsamic glaze mixed with the other ingredients made the pizza.

They have so many other combinations of pizza that it gives me an excuse to make the drive to come back.

There's a lot to love here at Tikanis and I know I only sampled a small part of what makes this small restaurant successful. Covid-19 has impacted practically everything and I know during normal times this place would of been much busier. All the safeguards are in place to accommodate "dine-in" but it seems much of the business is still take out and delivery so wear you mask upon entering. The restaurant was clean and the staff was very friendly and accommodating and they took all precautions to ensure our visit here was comfortable by wearing their mask and minimizing their trips to our table.

We ordered a small Greek Salad to start and to share its adequate for two especially if your planning to order a pizza, the ingredients were fresh and the salad was made to order it would be quite filling for one person. I couldn't resist the crafted beer menu and our server was very descriptive with his recommendations, I am not a big beer drinker but the IPA's always get my attention especially when I ordering pizza. Like our server I can definitely recommend the "Atomizer" and "Life in the Clouds" especially since both were served ice cold in a chilled glass making them both easy to finish in this Florida heat. Okay since Pizza and Beer was going to be the choice for dinner before we left the campground we decided to let the menu lead the way, I was a little surprised to see they offer a deep dish option as well as some pretty awesome looking wings, but bringing left-overs back to the RV wasn't something we were interested in so we decided to go with a medium pizza to go with the salad. There are lots of good choices but it's the "green olives" that does it for us, hmmmm yes add some pepperoni and sausage but don't skimp on the olives since they really make the pizza.

Well since I'm volunteering my opinion I will tell you I think this place is something special, maybe it was the food and I know the food will keep people coming back but the staff and the beer choices makes it an easy choice as well if you're in the area, the interior decor is pretty interesting although I can't figure out the theme. After tasting the food its no wonder why so many people agree they do it right here....

Never eaten here. But, i went for an interview a few weeks ago. The owner did a quick 20 minute training & expected me to work that night. I've been serving for years. So i figured I'd wing it and make my money. I asked her roughly how much should i be expected to make. She said, 'you turn in cash tips at the end of the night. I deposit into my bank and you get cash tips and credit card tips on paycheck every two weeks. I also take out 25% processing fee out of your tips'

I walked out. I'm so glad to here this place shut down. She's a con artist.

What a great find!! Came here to try the wings. Had 6 hot and 6 bbq. They were crispy and delicious. No skimping on the sauce. Incredibly delicious blue cheese dressing.

The meatballs are wonderful and House made. Tender, light and flavorful. I would have these anytime. They are far better than most Italian restaurants.

We also liked the calzone and mozzarella sticks.

Our waitress was Katie. What a wonderful person. Helpful, always checking our drinks, very attentive. Sweet personality too. You don't find that often in restaurants these days and it's genuine.

I'll be back for more great food and a craft beer when I'm not driving.

      Hats off to Tikanis!

We were a bit nervous when we walked in and we were the only customers. My brother in law asked why and the guy told us it had just opened for the day. By the time we finished our meal, the place was full. My husband ordered the lemon pepper wings and a calzone filled with gyro meat and mushrooms. It was very good and plump with ingredients. The huge wings were served with the best ranch dressing I have ever tasted. It had a consistency of ranch dip. Overall we had a good food experience here. There was no bar service that day and I don't know why.

Why 5 stars? Because this is some of the best deep dish I've ever had.

      --- --- ---

My wife and I are huge fans of Chicago Deep Dish, but it's not something you can find at too many places in Tampa Bay. We have a go-to place (Paul's in Clearwater) but Tikanis proved to be pretty awesome in its own right.

I must have bookmarked Tikanis at least a year and a half ago, but I just don't make it out to this part of St. Pete very often. After many times where I considered making the journey out here, it finally happened!

The funny thing is that I had actually just been in Chicago the three days prior to my visit, but my wife was super jealous of my food photos and wanted to get some Chicago in her life when I came home. This pizza turned out better than what I had up there, actually! The crust was a tad crispier than I'm used to with deep dish, which made it easier to eat.

We also opted for the fried mushrooms, which were solid, but I'd probably opt for an alternative next time. Garlic knots, maybe?

There were a lot of beers on tap, but there were plenty of the Bud/Miller/Coors type products of the world with a few Florida beers mixed in.

I'd definitely come back here again if I find myself in this part of town! If you do opt to order the deep dish, definitely call in the order ahead of time, even if you're dining in because it takes an hour to make!
