About the Business
The story of pizza in America starts in New York City, on the Spring Street in lower Manhattan, 1905 when Gennaro Lombardi, a baker and pizzaiolo from Naples is granted the first license in the United States to sell pizza. New York style pizza is characterized by its wide, thin, and foldable slices. The flavor of the crust has been attributed to the minerals in the New York City tap water used to make the dough. Eddie and Sam's Pizza imports New York Water for the sake of authenticity. We brought the authentic New York Pizza to downtown Tampa

Q:
Where do you park nearby? Is there a lot or street parking or do you have to find a parking garage? I need to know how far the walk is.
A:
There's parking lot north of the restaurant just across E Twiggs St. You may be able to find some spots along Twiggs and Madison.

How's the gluten free pizza?
A:
Really tasty, but get the crust extra crispy. It's super thin and can be floppy.

This place is packed during lunch and it's quick to order on the kiosk. Your order will be filled in 5 minutes or less.
Here's how I rate the slices as all of them are $4.50 per slice:
9/10 Meat Lovers
8.5/10 Chicken Parm
7/10 BBQ Chicken Bacon
0/10 Chicken Bacon Ranch
The slices are literally bigger than my forearm. I've tried almost all of the pizzas here and like the 2 above best.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Brian M.Citrus Park, Tampa Bay, FL160504Mar 24, 2024
If you're looking for NY pizza, this is the closest I've had. I really enjoyed it, especially the price.
Not exactly like what you'd get in Brooklyn but it's the closest I've found in the Tampa Bay. It's definitely worth a try.
The restaurant is busy and they are fast. We had the medium size and it had 6 slices. Plenty for 3 adults.
This is a good restaurant for a quick bite of pizza. I'm glad I found it.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Joe R.Valrico, FL4711Feb 10, 2024

Got the sausage and mushroom pizza delivered. Ordered through toast. It is New York style and was good don't get me wrong. Perhaps it's not fair because I live near multiple great pizza places here in Upstate New York which I prefer. It certainly would be hard for them to compete with NYC places like Di Fara or John's of Bleecker Street. But it was good. Perhaps it's local bias. I walked by earlier (was raining cats and dogs, as it does in Tampa when it was time for dinner so I got delivery). Perhaps it's a lot better hot out of the oven.

Happy National Pizza Day!
I'm originally from New York and moved here 9 years ago. When I get nostalgic or just wanting a delicious slice of pizza this is my go to place.
This amazing pizza shop is in Downtown Tampa, which can be quite difficult to get parking. So find a great spot, pay for parking and walk over because you're in a pizza treat.
As far as ambience and vibe, it's what you'd expect from a NY style pizza joint! The place is always clean and well organized. The service and logistics at the restaurant work very well. You get to the counter, order on digital kiosks or go straight to the guys behind the glass counters and order what you would like. Plain and simple
Every slice , yes you can order by the slice or get yourself a whole pie, is flavored deliciously - seasoned and tasty. So many flavors, types and toppings to choose from! All pies are freshly baked when you order a whole pizza; so it may take a while, but it's worth the wait. Pizzas are huge by the way! Just like NYC
Can't forget they make Sicilians, wings and other dishes, if you're not wanting a slice. They even have gluten free options! Ohhh and can't forget tiramisu and gelatos!
We usually grab our slices to go and take them home, just ask for slightly undercooked if you live far that way it won't be hard by time you get home (same with pies).
My kiddo loves the pineapple and ham slice and I'm a bet boring just pepperoni but hey I'm from NY
Sooo if you're in Tampa and looking for great pizza, go ahead and get a slice or, why not, a whole pie! You won't regret it!Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Jan 3, 2024
Walking in was a little crowded because people trying to find a seat and order but within minutes it cleared up. It was a little noisy but nothing unbearable. Ordering was a breeze using the touchscreen but if you don't want to use it you can always go up to the counter and order your slices or pie. All the workers were busy working on orders but still took the time to talk to customers and acknowledge them which was nice.
We ordered several different slices and they all came out hot and delicious. My fav slice was the lasagna one which was a white slice with sliced meatballs, ricotta, and red sauce on top. Everything tasted great and no matter what you choose I know it's going be good choice. Every time I've come here the food is on point and consistent.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 1 - Steveo F.Palm Beach Gardens, FL0121May 3, 2024

I've been on the hunt for NY style pizza since moving to the area and Eddie & Sam's is the closest I've gotten thus far. The parking situation isn't the most fun but with the location in a busy downtown area, it's difficult to expect anything more. There's paid street parking or a paid parking lot across the street so you have some options.
The ordering process is quite easy; place your order via the kiosk, pay and wait for your name/order to be called on the opposite end. I'd imagine their pies being more fresh than their slices but for a warmed slice it was very good. A nice crisp undercarriage, flavorful sauce, with a light crust. Out of the pepperoni and cheese their pepp got my vote.
I don't recall seeing very many dine in options so we took ours to go and enjoyed outside instead. Looking forward to revisiting and giving one of their specialty pies a go.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 1 - 57816307241Nov 5, 2023
Ordered pizzas for my daughters birthday party at Kendra Scott in Hyde Park. I placed the order online with future date and time for her party. Booked the delivery for Saturday at 11:45am given her party was at noon. They use Doordash to deliver the food. The entire process was seamless!
I got an email and text confirmation of my order after placing. The day of, I received a notification text when the order was being picked up then another when the driver was approaching. And then when driver had arrived. They delivered 20 minutes early so good thing I was almost to the store location to take the pizza. The driver was so friendly.
I ordered 1 pepperoni and 1 chicken parmigiana pizza. The pepperoni pizza was the 20 inch which was HUGE! I had them cut both into squares to make it easier to eat. Both were very good pizza. My favorite was the chicken parmigiana but the kiddos devoured the pepperoni!
Thanks team for making the pizza delicious and helping to add to a wonderful birthday celebration.Helpful 8Thanks 3Love this 6Oh no 0 - Feb 18, 2024
Recently tried Eddie & Sam's NY Pizza in downtown Tampa. They have a lot of amazing options on the menu; it was hard to pick just 2 pizzas to try! We decided to go with a classic cheese pizza and the Greek pizza with roasted red peppers. I don't usually order cheese pizzas, but I was blown away by theirs. So much cheesy flavor packed into this pizza! And it paired really nicely with their ranch and marinara dipping sauces. The Greek pizza was also very delicious. I recommend adding the roasted red peppers which are optional. I loved the saltiness of the kalamata olives mixed with the flavor of the feta cheese and peppers. My only issue with the pizzas was the amount of crust relative to cheese/toppings. Some of the slices felt like they were 40% crust which is too much for me. However, would still recommend this place to friends and will definitely be back to try their other pizzas!
